Jack and the Beanstalk Project

Here's my coursework from high school. This coursework lasted a few weeks, as we had a lot of time to create our final pieces. We got to choose our briefs so I decided to choose the brief which consisted of creating advertisements for a new film which is a recreation of Jack and the Beanstalk. The brief also stated i would need to make tickets and other promotional material (which I decided to make a poster). The main piece that i needed to create was a foam board display to be shown in cinemas. For this I decided I wanted to make the display 3D and 'pop' out, to make it seem more interesting for the audience. To do the background colours I used spray paints, which i really enjoyed doing :) I then got images to and printed them out so i could put information on the display. As you can see i based the film on 'Lego' so I created the 'J' and 'B' so that it looked like they were made out of Lego pieces which i think worked really well for the display. For my other designs I used software on the computers to create them; for the poster i used Photoshop and for the tickets I used 2D design. All of my final pieces are based on the theme of 'Lego' so that they all linked together and anybody could tell that these promotions are for the same film. I'm very proud of this coursework :D As my final grade for it was an A* :) with full marks (100/100) :D

-Thought i would just show off the fact that i got full marks for it :P

Turkish Delight

This is a movie poster which i made for my first week at college. We were given a task to create a poster which was based on our summer holidays. Since i went to Turkey in my holidays i decided to base it on this, however i wasn't sure what the story could be about, so i then i decided the genre of the movie will be romance (since i have never made a romance poster before). Everything is hand drawn for this poster.

Dream and Revolution - Ernst

Here's yet another Max Ernst movie poster. This is the second to last idea i had for this project. For this idea i got two pieces of his work and put them together for the background and then decided to fade out the portrait of Max Ernst and place it on top of the background. This isn't one of my favorite ideas as to be honest not much thought has gone into this idea and i don't think it's a very effective poster for the assignment at hand.
(Sorry that it's sideways)

Max Ernst - Poster

Here is another poster for Max Ernst (see older post) for this poster i decided to get an image of Ernst and get a few snippets of his work to add for the background as if these are the thoughts that are going on in his head. This is what i wanted to convey for this poster.

Basquiat Interpretation

This is one of the designs i created which is inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat. I have got images from the internet of Basquiat's work and put my on interpretation of his work into my piece. i have only use wax crayons to create this piece.

Fish

This is simply a fish ;D

Dreamer - Max Ernst

This piece is based on the artist Max Ernst. As one of my college assignments was to create a poster for 'a movie' about our given artist. Part of the assignment is about the surrealist act, so this is why we were given these artists. All the images apart from the boy and the background are Ernst's artwork which i put on the background to create the effect of the boy painting the art on a canvas. The message i wanted to get across was that the boy is Max Ernst creating his work, which is what 'the movie' would be about.

Bottled Basquiat

This is a bottle design based on the artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. This design is part of one of my college assignments where we chose an artist which we had researched and had to create a bottle which would be sold at 'A museum' which had 'An exhibition' about are chosen artist. I have created this design by using Adobe Illustrator an Photoshop. All of the surface design is Basquait's previous work, placed together, as you can see from the main image in the middle, the shape of the drawing is what i based my bottle shape on.

Doodles

Here's just a few doodles, and drawings I've done over the past few years. Hope you enjoy :)

Punk Rock Piece

Made this today :) This is another music piece, but i decided to base it on Punk Rock. I have used the same materials as i did for my other piece which are nail polish, a CD, and images of bands. However i feel that i should of made the background Black instead of White. Please share any thoughts you have on this piece.

Recreation Of Lucian Freud's Work

This is one of my interpretations of Lucian Freud's work. I created this in High school for one of our Art projects. To create this we used fine liners and used the technique of Cross Hatching to recreate some of Freud's work.

Music Piece

Going to start off with one of my favorite designs which i made for a Christmas Market. This piece was part of my college assignment where we had to create designs based on ourselves, so i decided to create one about the music i like and came up with this. I have used different materials including a CD, nail polish and images to create this design.

First Post :)

Ok, so starting a blog, I've never done one before, but i hope you will enjoy. I'm an aspiring Graphic Designer and would love your opinions on my work. Most things that will be posted will be the designs i have created at college for my assignments.
